Mental Health Services

We provide a wide range of mental health services across the London boroughs of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey and further afield.

We provide a range of services for children, young people, adults and older people.  You can find out more about our children and adolescent mental health services on our BEHCAMHS website.

  • Access and Flow

    We provide a 24-hour Access and Flow service for adults who require admission to our acute and older adult wards. The team also sources specialist placements to include CAMHS for young people, mother and baby unit (MBU), learning disability and Psychiatric Intensive Care Units (PICU).
  • Adolescent Outreach Team – Haringey

    We provide treatment and support to children and young people aged 12-18 with mental health, behavioural and emotional wellbeing needs.
  • Adult ADHD Clinic

    We offer new patient assessment, diagnosis, medication testing and titration with 12-month annual reviews.
  • Adult Learning Disability Service – Haringey

    We provide services for adults with learning disabilities in Haringey. This is an integrated service between Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust, Whittington Health NHS Trust and Haringey Social Services.
  • Avesbury House

    Avesbury House is a low secure unit which provides care and rehabilitation for adult males as they move towards the community, but continue to require 24-hour nursing care.
  • Barnet Adolescent Service

    The team offers an assessment of children and young people’s mental health, behavioural and emotional wellbeing needs.
  • Barnet Assessment Service

    Barnet Assessment Service provides people with an initial assessment of their mental health needs. The Assessment Service is not a crisis service.
  • Barnet Hospital Liaison Team at Barnet Hospital A&E

    We support the Accident and Emergency (A&E) department at Barnet General Hospital and work with patients suspected of having a mental health problem.
  • Barnet Intensive Enablement Team

    The Barnet Intensive Enablement Team (IET) provides community-based rehabilitation treatment and support for adults with moderate to severe mental health difficulties.
  • Barnet North Adult Core Community Mental Health Team

    Our service is for adults who are aged 18–65 and are experiencing a range of mental health difficulties and who may also have complex needs that would be best met by secondary mental health services.
  • Barnet Older Adults Day Care Service

    This service is for older adults who are 65 years of age or over and who need help with managing their mental health problems. They may be experiencing anxiety, low mood or mood swings, perceptual issues or mild cognitive impairments which are impacting on their ability to cope with their daily routine, including activities of daily living.
  • Barnet Older People's Community Mental Health Team (CMHT)

    We offer a service to people 65 years+ who present with mental health problems and who are residents in the London Borough of Barnet. We also accept referrals for younger people if a neurological assessment identifies a cognitive impairment or dementia.
  • Barnet Personality Disorder Team

    Barnet Personality Disorder Team is a dedicated non-forensic service for people with severe and moderate personality disorder.
  • Barnet Psychology Hub

    We provide psychological assessment and treatment for people who need help with a range of mental health problems including depression and anxiety, psychosis, personality disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
  • Barnet Schools Project

    We offer support to children and adolescents experiencing difficulties in school settings.
  • Barnet South Locality Team

    Our service is for adults who are aged 18-65 and are experiencing a range of mental health difficulties and who may also have complex needs that would be best met by secondary mental health services.

    Our service is for adults aged 18-65 experiencing a range of mental health difficulties.
  • Barnet West Locality Team

    Our service is for adults who are aged 18-65 and are experiencing a range of mental health difficulties and who may also have complex needs that would be best met by secondary mental health services.
  • Beacon Centre

    The Beacon Centre is a 16-bed specialist acute mental health facility which provides assessment and treatment services for young people.
  • Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)

    Our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) provides assessment, treatment and support of the mental health, behavioural and emotional wellbeing needs of children and young people aged from 0-17 years. Find out more on the dedicated BEH CAMHS website.
  • CHOICES

    The CHOICES team offer support to children and young people in Haringey who are facing issues that can impact them emotionally. This may include bullying, anxiety or family problems.
  • Community Rehabilitation Team - Enfield

    We offer treatment and support to people whose mental health problems requires them to reside in a 24 hour supported/residential accommodation helping patients with coping, relationship and social skills to improve and maintain good health.
  • Community Rehabilitation Team - Haringey

    We offer treatment and support to people with a primary diagnosis of psychosis.
  • Complex PTSD Treatment Pathway - Haringey

    The Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Treatment Pathway offer services to people who are currently experiencing symptoms associated with complex PTSD (also referred to as cPTSD or type 2 PTSD).

    Cornwall Villa is a 13 bedded inpatient treatment mental health facility for older people who are over 65 years of age, with severe functional mental health problems.

  • Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team - Barnet

    Barnet Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT) offers short term intensive home treatment for people in mental health crisis who may otherwise need to be admitted to hospital.

    We provide intensive mental health care in people's homes.
  • Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team - Haringey

    We provide intensive care and support in patients' homes who may be having a mental health crisis.
  • Crisis Telephone Service

    Our 24/7 crisis telephone service is the first point of contact for people who are in mental health crisis and who live in Barnet, Enfield and Haringey.
  • Daisy Ward

    We are a 19-bed female acute ward that provides care to adults aged from 16-65 years who have been diagnosed as having acute and/or enduring mental health problems who cannot be cared for at home or in the community.
  • Devon Ward - Enfield

    Devon ward is an intensive care unit and provides 16 male beds for patients who need more complex care.

  • Early Intervention Service - Barnet

    We treat people aged between 18-65 years of age, experiencing their first episode of psychosis, or those who are in the first three years of psychotic illness.

    We treat people aged between 18-65 years of age, experiencing their first episode of psychosis, or those who are in the first three years of psychotic illness.

  • Eating Disorders Service

    We are a national specialist eating disorders service based in north London. We provide specialist care and treatment to people aged 18 years and above with a primary diagnosis of an eating disorder such as Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and Binge Eating Disorder.
  • Enable - Enfield Alcohol and Drug Service

    We provide specialist treatment across two sites to anyone over the age of 18 living in Enfield who is worried about their alcohol or drug use.
  • Enfield Acute Inpatient Therapies

    We provide a variety of therapeutic activities and assessments for people aged between 18-65 years of age who are being treated on the Acute, Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), and Rehabilitation wards at Chase Farm Hospital.
  • Enfield Adult Core Community Mental Health Team

    We offer treatment and support to people with common mental health issue such as anxiety, depression, and schizophrenia, bi-polar affective disorder, psychotic depression and other psychiatric disorders.

    Enfield Assessment Service provides people with an initial assessment of their mental health needs. The Assessment Service is not a crisis service.
  • Enfield North and South Locality Mental Health Teams

    The service is for adults who are aged 18-65 and are diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, psychotic depression and other psychiatric disorders.
  • Enfield Older People Community Mental Health Team

    We are the Enfield Older People Community Mental Health Team (Enfield OPCMHT) for people over 65 years old who have a mental health problem and live in the borough of Enfield. We are a secondary care service that provides services directly to people with mental health problems where they live, and signpost to other local services which are available as required.
  • Enfield Therapy Service

    We provide psychological assessment and treatment for people who need help with a range of severe and enduring mental health problems including depression and anxiety, personality disorders, and complex PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder).
  • Fixated Threat Assessment Centre (FTAC)

    the Fixated Threat Assessment Centre (FTAC) is a joint police/mental health unit set up in October 2006 by the Home Office, the Department of Health and Metropolitan Police Service to assess and manage the risk to politicians, members of the British Royal Family, and other public figures from obsessive individuals.
  • Forensic Family and Friends Support Group

    Family and Friends' Support Network is for people with a relative or friend under the care of the North London Forensic Service, either in the community or in any of the inpatient facilities.
  • Forensic Integrated Community Service

    We offer a range of preventative solutions as well as assessment, treatment, CPA care co-ordination and supervision to mentally disordered offenders.
  • Forensic Learning Disability Service

    The Forensic Learning Disability Service provides specialist forensic assessment and treatment of forensic patients who have a learning disability.
  • Forensic Low Secure

    The Forensic Low Secure service provides assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of patients.
  • Forensic Medium Secure Inpatients

    We offer services to those with mental health issues who require assessment and/or treatment in conditions of security and who may have come into contact with the Criminal Justice System.
  • Forensic Outreach Service

    We provide aftercare for restricted patients who have been discharged from inpatient secure services, facilitating their transition to the community.
  • Halliwick Personality Disorder Team

    We provide comprehensive assessment and treatment for people between the ages of 18 -65, with complex personality difficulties.
  • Haringey Central Locality Team

    This service is for adults who are aged 18-65 and are diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, psychotic depression and other psychiatric disorders.
  • Haringey Community Mental Health Team for Older People

    We offer support in the community for people over the age of 65 who are experiencing mental health difficulties.
  • Haringey Homeless Health Inclusion Team (HHHIT)

    Haringey Homeless Health Inclusion Team (HHHIT) provides services for adults over the age of 17 who are sleeping rough in the borough of Haringey. The team will provide timely access to advice, assessment and a range of appropriate interventions.
  • Haringey Intensive Psychological Pathways

    In Haringey, we have a range of Psychological Pathways/Teams that provide specialist treatment programmes to support people with emotional difficulties, such as anxiety, depression, panic, OCD, PTSD, personality difficulties and body dysmorphia.
  • Haringey North East Locality Team

    The service is for adults who are aged 18-65 and are diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, psychotic depression and other psychiatric disorders.
  • Haringey Psychology Service for Older People

    This service provides assessment and psychological interventions for older people with moderate-severe mental health needs and/or cognitive impairment.
  • Haringey South East Locality Team

    The service is for adults who are aged 18-65 and are diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, psychotic depression and other psychiatric disorders.
  • Haringey West Locality Team

    The service is for adults who are aged 18-65 and are diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, psychotic depression and other psychiatric disorders.
  • Hawthorn Recovery Unit

    Hawthorn Recovery Unit provides assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for older adults with acute and complex mental health problems.
  • HIV Psychology Service

    This service is for people affected by HIV that need further support. Clients are seen at the Alexander Pringle Centre where the service is based.

  • Ken Porter Ward

    The Ken Porter ward is for people who are aged, generally, between 50 - 60 years admitted for rehab and older adults with enduring mental health problems ranging from 65 years and above who require continuing care.
  • Macmillan Clinical Psychology Service

    This service provides psychological support to patients affected by cancer, as well as supporting stepped care through providing supervision, consultation and teaching to staff working in cancer services at North Middlesex University Hospital.
  • Maple Service (Maternal Mental Health Service)

    We are a community-based psychological therapy service. We support people experiencing fear, trauma or loss arising from fertility, pregnancy or birth-related difficulties as well as the loss of a baby.
  • Memory Service - Barnet

    We provide a specialist service for people who are experiencing difficulties with their memory.
  • Memory Service - Enfield

    This service provides specialist assessment to people over 65 years and over, who have concerns about their memory getting worse.

    We provide clinic based assessment of Haringey residents to diagnose and treat dementia.
  • Mood Anxiety and Personality difficulties (MAP) Treatment Pathway - Haringey

    The Mood Anxiety and Personality difficulties (MAP) Treatment Pathway supports people who have long-term and chronic difficulties with anxiety and depression.

    The National Stalking Clinic (NSC) is a specialist service providing assessment and consultation for those who have engaged in stalking behaviour.

    We support the Accident and Emergency (A&E) department at North Middlesex Hospital and work with patients suspected of having a mental health problem.

    We provide a centralised Health Based Place of Safety (HBPoS) in Enfield that aims to deliver a high quality efficient adult mental health assessment service.

    We provide treatment and support to young people aged between 13 and 18 with mental health, behavioural and emotional wellbeing needs.

    We provide inpatient care to adults aged 18 - 65 years old who have been diagnosed with acute and enduring mental health problems.

    This is an inpatient ward primarily for older people over the age of 65 with a diagnosis of dementia who require assessment or continuing care.

    Somerset Villa is a 14-bed, community-based inpatient step down mental health facility for people who are over 65 years of age.

    We provide support to service users with moderate-severe dementia and their carers.

    We are a community-based mental health team serving the needs of pregnant and postnatal women with moderate to severe mental health needs.

    A world-leading multi-agency specialist unit dedicated to tackling stalking that is run in partnership with the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) and the Suzy Lamplugh Trust.

    Sunflower Ward is an acute inpatient assessment and treatment ward which provides intensive clinical interventions designed to deliver high quality support and treatment to enable individuals to be reintegrated into the community. The ward provides care for adults aged 18 to 65 years living in the Borough of Haringey.
