What we offer
The team offers an assessment of children and young people’s mental health, behavioural and emotional wellbeing needs. There are a range of treatment options available, from medication prescribing and monitoring to therapeutic support and counselling. The Barnet Adolescent Service has a number of professionals from different disciplines working together, including child psychiatrists, child psychotherapists, family therapists and clinical psychologists.
Who is the service for
The service is for children and young people aged between 13-17 years old, who have a mental health condition.
What are the next stages to recovery
We aim to help young people move away from mental illness and try hard for them not to need further mental health services when we discharge from our service, however we have a seamless service with EIS in Barnet for young people with psychotic illnesses and can refer onto adult teams if needed.
How you can access our service
Referrals are accepted from schools, social care services, youth centres, youth offending, GPs and other health and social care professionals.
