Strike action this Bank Holiday weekend
Date: 28 April 2023

If you experience a mental health crisis during the strike action this weekend, please contact our Crisis Line on 0800 151 0023. This number is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You will then be referred to an appropriate, and available, service, which could be our Mental Health Crisis Assessment Service, at the Peckwater Centre, Kentish Town.
Strike action is planned by Royal College of Nursing (RCN) members, from 8pm on Sunday 30 April to midnight on Monday 1 May, and this will put pressure on NHS services. We are planning to open additional capacity in our Health Based Place of Safety, have consultant cover in our Mental Health Crisis Assessment Service, and nursing staff in our acute liaison teams across north London.
There is no mandate for industrial action at BEH or C&I, but RCN members in many London trusts will be going on strike, and this will be an escalation of previous action, involving NHS nurses in emergency departments, intensive care, cancer and other wards. The Emergency Department at UCL Hospital is expected to be severely affected.
