Relocation of clinical and corporate services at St Ann’s Hospital next week

Date: 22 October 2021

Following the opening of our new mental health inpatient building, Blossom Court, at St Ann’s Hospital in Haringey in summer 2020, work has progressed on refurbishing the rest of the site which is being retained by the Trust. The first stage of this will complete this week and next week a range of clinical and corporate teams and departments will relocate from their current relocations into the refurbished 1930s blocks.

The refurbished buildings will all have new names, as indicated on the new St Ann’s site plan. The new names are all trees on the St Ann’s site and were agreed by a small working group of patient and staff representatives and the Staff-Side Chair. The new site plan is being installed across the site, so patients, visitors and staff can find the relocated teams and departments. The new entrances to each department are indicated on the plan. All telephone numbers, e-mail addresses etc will not change.

The next stage of the St Ann’s site redevelopment involves the opening of the new patient, visitor and staff restaurant (which will be known as the Hawthorn Restaurant) and the new meeting and training rooms suite on the first floor above (which will be known as the Mulberry Centre) in mid-January 2022. Refurbishment work will then begin on G and H Blocks and the final stage will be creating new roadways and landscaping the retained grounds, which will be completed by autumn 2022. The Trust will vacate all of the land sold to the Greater London Authority by December 2022 and the residential development being managed by Catalysts Homes for the GLA is due to begin in early 2023.
