Our School Aged Immunisation Team continues to provide the service to ensure young people receive vaccinations during the Coronavirus pandemic

Date: 07 August 2020

Our immunisation nurses in Enfield are enjoying working in a range of new spaces this summer.

The Enfield School Aged Immunisation Team delivers the school aged vaccination programme across the borough. The team works closely with all schools in Enfield to make sure that as many children and young people are protected from vaccine-preventable diseases as possible.

A strong relationship between the schools and the School Aged Immunisation Team is at the heart of the success of the programme. Most vaccinations are given in schools so when schools were either closed or partially closed due to COVID-19, the service had to stop delivering vaccinations for a short time.

Enfield Presents have helped us by providing spacious venues this summer so nurses can continue to give children and young people vital vaccinations providing protection against Diptheria, Tetanus, Polio and Meningitis ACWY.

This week the team are enjoying the surroundings of Forty Hall estate, immunising in a venue usually used for wedding ceremonies. Enfield Presents have also provided venues in Millfield Theatre, The Dugdale Centre and Green Towers community Hall providing the Immunisation Team with a chance to see young people throughout Enfield this summer.

The team knows which children have missed their immunisations and will contact parents to reschedule during the summer and throughout the next academic year. If you have any queries and would like to speak to a member of the Immunisation Team, they can be contacted between 9am – 4pm, Monday to Friday on 020 8702 4829 or via beh-tr.enfieldimmunisationteam@nhs.net.
