    Launch of the North London Forensic Consortium

    A new partnership between the five NHS providers of secure mental health services in north London aims to provide the best possible care to patients and, wherever possible, to provide care close to home so that patients can maintain links with their families and friends.

  • Health Visiting and School Nursing services transfer to the North Middlesex University Hospital

    School Nursing and Health Visiting services for children and young people in Enfield transferred from Enfield Community Services, part of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust, to the North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust on 1 October 2020, as part of planned changes by the commissioner of these services, Enfield Council. Further information about School Nursing and Health Visiting services in Enfield is now available from the North Middlesex University Hospital.

    The Haringey Service User and Carer Forum is excited to announce the re-launch of the Forum on 12 October after face to face meetings were suspended due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The Forum provides an opportunity for people to discuss their experiences and to share views with Trust staff to facilitate a dialogue so that their ideas can help to influence the way the services operate.

    Eighty NHS hospital staff, London Ambulance Service medics and Transport for London workers received free tennis lessons on the famous Wimbledon grass courts last weekend as a thank you for their hard work during the pandemic. BEH was represented by Elias Egwabar, Access and Flow Administrator and Jide Ogunba, a physiotherapist working on the older people’s mental health wards.

    Ben Marks was working for a healthcare consultancy and technology company when he responded to the call for healthcare staff to return to the NHS to help during the pandemic. He joined the BEH Pharmacy Team and says “I am planning to stay as long as I am wanted and can be useful. The culture and people at BEH are fantastic!”

    To ensure that the new NCEL CAMHS Collaborative is distinctive and identifiable across the whole region, the Collaborative has launched a competition for service users, carers and other experts by experience to design a logo.

    We have recently launched Internal Professional Standards for the Acute Mental Health Pathway to make sure we provide consistent and timely high quality care for all service users and avoid out of area placements for those who need hospital admission.

    Meet Sue Lansley who returned to practice as a nurse during the pandemic

    Sue was taking a break from nursing and not planning to return when she answered a national call to help with the pandemic.

    Now working in BEH she says: “There was never any question about returning to help as I love the NHS so much. I have been supported by really wonderful people who give 100% to the care of their patients.”
