Making referrals – mental health services

Information for GPs and professionals about the referral routes into mental health services in Barnet, Enfield and Haringey.

We have made it easier to access the Trust’s adult mental health services by introducing a triage service for non-urgent or routine referrals and a Crisis Resolution and Home treatment (CRHT) service for urgent referrals for anyone in a crisis. You can find out how to make referrals to our Enfield Community Services

To make a referral to one of our specialist mental health services, please use the links below:

The Assessment Service

The Trust's Assessment Service will operate from 9am to 9pm, Monday to Friday and provide face-to-face patient assessments. Referrals to the Assessment Service can only be made by GPs or other health or social care professionals.  It is preferred if referrals to the Assessment Service are made by e-mail or fax wherever possible.

Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHT) service

The new CRHT service will provide an urgent outreach service, assessing service users 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, wherever they are at the point of referral e.g. GP surgery, A&E,their own home etc. It will mean that services will be provided closer to people’s homes rather than them having to come to one of the current Acute Assessment Centres in Haringey and Enfield. The Acute Assessment Centres will no longer be open.

This replaces the interim urgent care service that has been running in all three boroughs. The contact details for the teams are:

Patients can also self-refer to the CRHT by contacting them on the numbers above. Outside of these hours they should contact the CRHT team.

Urgent and non-urgent referrals to our specialist adult mental health services, such as eating disorders and personality disorders, will remain unchanged. Referrals to CAMHS will also remain unchanged.
