The Beacon Centre
Welcome to the Beacon Centre!
We would like to welcome you to The Beacon Centre. We are a 12 bed general adolescent inpatient unit for people aged 13 and up to their 18th birthday. We support people who are affected by different mental health challenges. Your child will be supported by a multi-disciplinary team who are committed to help them through this difficult time.
At the Beacon Centre, we aspire to create a safe, supportive and validating environment where young people come to manage crisis.
Why might a young person be admitted to the Beacon Centre?
Young people are admitted to the Beacon Centre following the onset of an acute mental health difficulty. On admission young people might be struggling with such mental health problems as depression, self-harm, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, suicidal thoughts or psychosis. Beacon's teamwork in conjunction with families, schools and community services to ensure each young person's care is individualised to them.
