The service is for adults affected by cancer who are being treated at North Middlesex University and can be seen for support around issues related to adjusting to cancer and its impact, coping with change, loss, and a sense of the future being uncertain following a diagnosis of cancer.

What We Offer

This service provides psychological support to patients affected by cancer, as well as supporting stepped care through providing supervision, consultation and teaching to staff working in cancer services at North Middlesex University Hospital.

How You Can Access Our Service

Referral is via cancer specialists based at North Middlesex University Hospital, this may include Clinical Nurse Specialists, Oncology Doctors or Allied Health Professionals working in oncology.

Who Is This Service For

The service is for adults affected by cancer who are being treated at North Middlesex University and can be seen for support around issues related to adjusting to cancer and its impact, coping with change, loss, and a sense of the future being uncertain following a diagnosis of cancer. This includes feelings of anxiety, low mood or depression as well as loss of body confidence or body image concerns, coping with worries about treatment, and dealing with symptoms or side effects. Also, psychological difficulties which may have been re-triggered or made worse by cancer and difficulties adjusting to life beyond cancer.  The Service is located within the cancer department at North Middlesex University Hospital.
