Who we are
A nurse led team supporting the Accident and Emergency (A&E) department of North Middlesex Hospital in Enfield.
What we offer
We offer an A&E Liaison service where a nurse will lead a mental health assessment for adults who are suspected of having a mental health crisis on their admission to A&E. The individual may be referred to other teams at BEH or signposted as necessary following the assessment.
We also provide medical advice on the wards at North Middlesex Hospital where an individual may have a mental health condition. This may be a long term condition, or a result of increased anxiety while in hospital. Conditions vary from psychosis, schizophrenia and depression to anxiety, stress and panic, among others. The team delivers inpatient liaison psychiatry which allows them to do a psychiatric assessment and provide treatment for these patients.
Who is the service for
People who attend A&E inpatients over the age of 16 at North Middlesex University Hospital.
