We offer a service to people 65 years + who present with mental health problems and who are residents in the London Borough of Barnet.  We also accept referrals for younger people if a neurological assessment identifies a cognitive impairment or dementia.

Who is the service for?

We offer a service to people 65 years + who present with mental health problems and who are residents in the London Borough of Barnet.  We also accept referrals for younger people if a neurological assessment identifies a cognitive impairment or dementia.

What We Offer

We are a multidisciplinary team of Specialist Old Age Psychiatrists, Community Psychiatric Nurses (CPNs), Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists and Support Workers. 

We provide assessments, diagnosis, treatment & support for our clients depending on their individual needs through a person-centred approach.

How You Can Access Our Service

We accept GP & Psychiatry Liaison Team referrals where physical health causes have been excluded. 

Referrals are to be sent to:beh-tr-dutyintakeboacmht@nhs.net. This is checked throughout the day. 

Referrals are screened within a day of receipt and passed for allocation within 13 weeks. 

We offer duty crisis visits on receipt of urgent referrals for those clients with immediate identifiable risk(s).

Barnet Memory Service - Barnet Memory Service is a specialist service for people who are experiencing difficulties with their memory, providing a comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment service using a person-centred and holistic approach to care.

Springwell Day Hospital - Offers short term day care support for older adults (65+) having mental health problems. 

Barnet Community Network - The Network provides short-term support if you have mental health problems and want to become more independent, gain confidence and be part of your community. 

Dementia Advisors – Offer support, advice & information to all those affected by a diagnosis of dementia.
