Please see below information about changes to our services in light of the Coronavirus outbreak. We have introduced a new helpline for people experiencing a mental health crisis 0300 0200 500. You can call this number to get support or advice 24/7.
School Aged Immunisation Service
If your child missed a planned immunisation session when schools were closed, we will reschedule this as soon as we can. GPs are not commissioned to administer any school aged immunisations, so please contact the immunisation team with any queries.
The school aged immunisation team can be contacted for advice Monday to Friday 9am – 4pm on 0208 702 4829 or via firstname.lastname@example.org
School Nursing Service
School Nurses can be contacted for advice and support on any general health concerns for 5 – 19 year olds, and for further information on their current offer.
The School Nursing team can be contacted Monday to Friday 9am – 4pm on 0208 702 6184 or beh-tr.CedarSN@nhs.net
Enfield Respiratory Service
During the COVID- 19 pandemic, Enfield Respiratory Service is still in operation. All patients are offered a telephone assessment and a decision is made following this assessment as to whether a face to face appointment is required.
Pulmonary rehabilitation is not being offered in a group setting at present, but referrals can continue to be made and we are exploring remote options via technology for provision where possible. We are contacting all patients who have been referred for pulmonary rehabilitation to ensure that they would like to participate in the future and adding them to a waiting list.
Our oxygen service is still running for those patients who require long term oxygen therapy and ambulatory oxygen therapy.
Unfortunately we are not able to offer spirometry and FeNO at present. Additionally, we are not able to offer face to face appointments at present for sputum clearance techniques but will discuss the technique over the telephone and where appropriate over video consultation.
Community Diabetes Service
The Community Diabetes Service at Forest Road Health Centre is running clinic consultations by phone for the majority of our patients. We are hoping to expand this to include video consultations where appropriate.
The Type 2 Diabetes Structured Education sessions are still in development and will likely be a combination of webinar or very small groups (enabling distancing).
In response to COVID-19, we are operating a reduced older people’s day hospital service. Many patients are shielding at home and we are continuing to support them through robust and proactive follow-up via regular telephone or video calls if in-person contact is not necessary.
The Hawthorns Unit at Chase Farm Hospital is seeing a small number of patients face-to-face at the unit where this is clinically indicated. We also provide an outreach service to some patients in crisis to prevent admission. http://www.beh-mht.nhs.uk/services/hawthorn-recovery-unit/201
Our Springwell Unit at Barnet General Hospital is closed. www.beh-mht.nhs.uk/services/springwell-day-hospital.htm
Memory services in the three boroughs all closed to new referrals in March but re-opened in June 2020 and are operating fully while working predominantly using remote approaches to assessment and treatment.
