The Trust are making changes to the way your information is managed so that we meet the requirements of a new data protection regulation, which will transfer the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation into UK law on the 25h May 2018.

The new law will protect the rights and freedoms of all individuals. To make sure that we continue to handle your personal data in a fair and transparent way, we will be updating our current privacy notice in accordance with the new law.

The revised notice will provide more details about what information we collect about you, why we collect it and who we share it with.

As a privacy notice can change from time to time we recommend that you check the latest notice before you provide us with any personal information, to make sure that you understand how we manage your information. Our new privacy notice will be available by the 25th May 2019 at http://www.beh-mht.nhs.uk/privacy-policy.htm

It’s not just the NHS that need to make changes to the way information is handled, every organisation that processes the personal information of EU citizens must comply with the new data protection law   For more information about the new law visit the Information Commissioner’s (ICO) website https://ico.org.uk/. The ICO is the regulator of data protection law in the UK.
