What we offer

FICS provide multi-disciplinary forensic community teams that offer a range of services from training and team or case consultations, assessment and treatment packages to the case management of patients on CPA and section 41 restriction orders MHA 1983.

Core functions:

  • Support the timely transition from inpatient to community provision for those currently detained in secure settings
  • Provide a stepped care approach from discharge into the community to transfer to general adult psychiatric services
  • Provide formal and informal training and case or team consultations
  • Operate in line with the Ministry of Justice guidance for clinical & social supervisors (2009)
  • Support local community mental health provision to better manage the risks presented by some service users
  • To work to a model of social inclusion and recovery so that mental health users, once discharged from secure settings have an increased opportunity to sustain their well being and remain low risk
  • To provide an equitable service to this diverse group of service users
  • To provide a public protection role in regard to MAPPA, the CJS and mental health services
  • Work in partnership with probation and integrated offender management teams
  • To develop local care pathways in partnership with criminal justice, NHS, statutory and third sector services

This service is currently available in Enfield, Haringey, Camden and Ilsington with an assessment service in Barnet.
