We plan to become a Foundation Trust (FT) this year as we believe there are real benefits for our patients, our staff and local people.
The Government has said that all NHS provider organisations must become, or be part of, a Foundation Trust by March 2014.
Foundation Trusts are accountable to local people, and involve patients, carers, staff and residents in deciding the priorities of the organisation. Becoming an FT will mean that we will have more freedom to innovate and grow within the NHS, so that we can improve our services and provide a better experience for our patients and their families.
Our Tripartite Formal Agreement between the Trust, NHS London and the Department of Health has now been published. This document sets out the commitment of all three organisations to the Trust achieving Foundation Trust status. You can view a copy here.
